The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Fundació Privada (hereinafter, UIC Barcelona), is a private foundation of Spanish nationality, subject to the legislation of the Government of Catalonia, with registered offices at c/ Immaculada, 22, 08017 Barcelona, holding Spanish Tax ID Code G-61737409, with telephone number (+34) 932 541 800 and fax number (+34) 934 677 275. Recorded in the Register of Foundations of the Government of Catalonia under number 1898.
This website is the property of UIC Barcelona.
The use of the website confers the status of user and implies the acceptance of all conditions laid out in this legal notice. Accessing the website and using the materials contained therein implies the user has read and, without any reservation whatsoever, accepts the following conditions:
1. Conditions of use
1.1. The website contains materials that were prepared for UIC Barcelona for purely informational purposes. Users must bear in mind that this material may not be the most recent information on the matter in question. Also, UIC Barcelona may modify, expand upon or update this material with no prior notice.
1.2. The purpose of the material contained on the website is to provide information about UIC Barcelona's activities and services. UIC Barcelona works to ensure that the published information and services meet the required standards of integrity, truthfulness, updating, accessibility and usability. In this regard, the date on which each page was last updated should be considered when browsing the website. Under no circumstances does the information provided on this website contravene any of the requirements laid down in the applicable laws, general provisions or acts that are to be published in periodicals, official journals or in the system determined by this university.
1.3. The links the website contains may redirect the user to other sites, webpages and/or applications managed by third parties, over which UIC Barcelona has no control. UIC Barcelona is not responsible for the content or condition of such sites, webpages or applications and accessing them via the website or application does not imply that UIC Barcelona recommends or endorses their content.
With regard to images of people appearing on the website, UIC Barcelona publishes them with due observance of their image rights. These images are only used for the purpose of assembling graphic files or videos intended to raise awareness of UIC Barcelona's activities. Under no circumstances will they be used for other purposes or transferred to third parties without proper authorisation.
1.4. UIC Barcelona has adequate security measures in place to keep the website and its servers free from malware. The website may be securely accessed (as in the case of Intranets) using the HTTPS protocol.
1.5. UIC Barcelona has a hyperlink on the website to its Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn profiles, among others, in order to publicise the social media in which it is active. By accessing these social media, the users are subject to the policies of each service.
1.6. UIC Barcelona enables users to receive news published on the website via RSS feeds.
2. Limitation of liability
2.1. Anyone who uses the website does so at their own risk. UIC Barcelona is not liable for any errors or omissions that may affect the content of its website or any website that may be accessed therefrom. Nor may UIC Barcelona be held liable for any damages resulting from the use of the website or any action based on the information it contains.
2.2. UIC Barcelona does not guarantee the absence of viruses or other harmful elements that could damage or alter the website user's computer system, electronic documents or files. As a result, UIC Barcelona is not liable for any damages these elements may cause to the user or third parties.
3. Data protection
3.1. Data collected through forms
- The UIC Barcelona websites contains a number of forms that collect personal data. All of these forms contain the respective information clauses that ensure compliance with the regulations on data protection.
- Furthermore, and where required under the regulations on data protection, the consent of the person concerned is requested in order to process or transfer personal data. To this effect, due regard will be paid to the terms of each clause.
- In any case, UIC Barcelona only processes personal data when adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to the specific, explicit and legitimate purposes for which it was collected. It also ensures the security of the personal data provided by users of the website through the application of various technical and organisational security measures.
- As set out in the regulations on data protection, with regard to underage users, only underage users aged 14 and older may provide personal data without the consent of their parents or guardians. With regard to users under the age of 14, the consent of their parents or guardians will be required. UIC Barcelona will not be responsible for personal data provided by users under the age of 14 without the consent of their parents or guardians.
3.2. Data transmission
Data transmission is implicit in the use of online communication protocols. Any data generated while browsing the UIC Barcelona website will be processed strictly for technical purposes and by staff members bound by professional secrecy.
3.3. Cookies
Under Article 22 of the Law on Information Society Services, UIC Barcelona may use data storage and retrieval devices (cookies) in the user's terminal equipment, provided that they give their consent after having received clear and comprehensive information about their use. The users may obtain comprehensive information about the purpose of installing and the intended uses of the cookies in UIC Barcelona's cookies policy.

3.4. Rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition
The user may exercise their rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition by sending a request to datos@uic.es or a letter to the address appearing at the top of this document. The request must indicate the name and surname(s) of the user, an address for notification purposes and the right being exercised. The user must also attach a photocopy of their ID card or passport.
4. Intellectual Property
4.1. All website content, unless indicated otherwise, is the exclusive property of UIC Barcelona or third parties. This includes but is not limited to: graphic design, source code, logos, texts, graphics, illustrations, photographs and other elements that appear on the website. To this effect, the term website will be taken to mean all creations incorporated and expressed by any tangible or intangible means or media, known or yet to be discovered, which are protected under the current regulations on intellectual and industrial property.
4.2. The simple viewing, printing, downloading or temporary storage, in full or in part, of the content or elements included on the website is authorised for personal, private and non-profit use by the user only, provided that in all cases the origin and author are indicated and, where applicable, the copyright symbol appears.
4.3. Under no circumstances does access to the website imply any kind of authorisation, waiver, conveyance, licence or partial or full assignment of these rights by the holders, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Nor does it grant the users any other right of use, modification, exploitation, reproduction, distribution or public communication of the website or its content other than those explicitly stated herein.
5. Applicable legislation and legal jurisdiction
In the event of a discrepancy or dispute resulting from the interpretation or application of this legal notice, UIC Barcelona and the user will be governed by Spanish legislation and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals of Barcelona.
