Faculty of Dentistry Attends 35th Edition of IDS in Cologne
From Tuesday to Saturday, 12-16 March 2013, the International Dental Show (IDS) took place in Cologne, Germany. It is the world's leading dental trade fair, is held every two years and brings together record numbers of dental professionals.
The fair attracted 125,000 trade visitors from 149 countries. Over 2,000 companies from 58 countries presented a wide range of innovations, products and services in their exhibitions.
The UIC Faculty of Dentistry was represented at the fair by Lluís Giner, the Dean of the faculty, Joan Vidal, the manager of the faculty and the University Dental Clinic (CUO), several members of the Board of the faculty and professors. It also had a booth in the exhibition area.
Besides creating great interest in its academic programmes, the faculty helped strengthen its relations with the industry by attending the show. The faculty was able to procure a free CEREC dental restoration product, a new 3Shape scanner and a new Kodak dental imaging system, worth a total of around €100,000.
