Evaluation systems and criteria
In blended
25% class grade
- There is a regime of blendedness . It is mandatory to attend the class in person the week you have assigned, or to follow the classes online at the same time. Classes will not be recorded .
- Periodically (approximately at the end of a lesson), there will be a multiple choice test to follow up the classes
- These follow - up tests will be carried out jointly and simultaneously for both groups. Therefore, the group that must attend class in person, must come with a laptop or similar device. Anyone who does not attend face-to-face classes without just cause (or is late), will have a 0 in the follow-up test for the classes they have missed. Depending on the number of face-to-face classes that have been missed, it will be subtracted proportionally from the class grade, or the grade obtained in that follow-up test.
25% dossier of key concepts .
(explained with greater precision in the Moodle document - Penal Methodology 3 and in the schedule of the subject marked in red)
- The key concepts dossier is posted in moodle . It is divided by topics –corresponding to the topics on the agenda-, and in each topic you will find two parts:
- A first part corresponds to the articles of positive law.
- A second part with key concepts. You will find them at the end of each topic. They refer to some issues that are especially relevant to understanding the types of crime under study
- There are 3 key concept exams on the schedule.
- The exams will have 2 parts. Each part will have an equivalent value (50% of the total)
- A first part will be positive law in bold. Questions will be formulated in which the content of the articles indicated in bold must be transcribed with the utmost precision.
- The second part will be multiple choice questions about the content of all the articles included in the dossier, whether or not they are in bold, and the key concepts (content referenced in sections 1 and 2 of the previous slide).
- Note (explained in more detail in the document that you will find in Moodle Criminal Law Methodology 3): To address these concepts, by groups, you will be assigned a topic. You will have to record an explanatory video, in which you explain and solve those key concepts -15 minutes-. If time permits, the class will be exhibited and defended . This explanation may add up to 30% to the mark of the key concepts exam in which that topic is evaluated. (Ex. If you get a 6 on the exam, you would have a 9 if the exhibition got a 10).
10% practical
(marked in the course schedule - moodle - in green)
- To carry out the practices, each student will be provided with a story (s) of “proven facts”. From there, the student must write a qualification document, as well as prepare a brief explanatory review.
- The internship system has two parts:
- Two of the practices must be resolved individually, and delivered on time.
- One last practice will take place on the same day as the final exam.
- The three practices are assigned the same value.
40% final exam
- As in all criminal subjects, the evaluation system in the final exam will continue to be the oral exam.
- The student will draw a subject at random, which he will have to present for 10 minutes .
- For the preparation of the exhibition, the student will have 5 minutes to prepare it.
- In the event that due to COVID-19 the examination could not be done in person, a modification of the regulations may be carried out, preserving the orality of the test.
