Introduction

This subject focuses on the knowledge of the most commonly used methodologies in the area of post-injury sports rehabilitation. For this reason, methodologies for the development of different physical qualities are detailed, such as strength, range of motion, explosiveness, speed, resistance of the musculoskeletal system, resistance of the cardiovascular and respiratory system, cognitive abilities, perceptual abilities and, in a more integrated way, neuromuscular control and neuromuscular coordination.

Pre-course requirements

There are not prerequisites.

Syllabus

1. Background related to therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation training and sports rehabilitation.
2. Neuromuscular principles underlying movement.
3. Neuromuscular control in the therapeutic process and readaptation as the basis of neuromuscular adaptation.
4. Analysis of muscle activation and its role in stabilising and developing movement.
5. Progression of neuromuscular control towards neuromuscular coordination.
6. Rehabilitation and Return to Play I, motor skills: cardiovascular and respiratory strength and strength as the basis of motor adaptation.
7. Rehabilitation and Return to Play II, neuromotric capacity: the amplitude of movement, balance and the capacity to react.
8. Rehabilitation and Return to Play III, perceptual-motor skills: space-temporal orientation and neuromuscular coordination.
9. Progression of the Rehabilitation towards Return to Play.
