Introduction

This course comprises, in a practical form, the main skills required to enter the field of research and evaluates the integrated skills needed to subsequently undertake a doctorate program.

Tthe master includes ECTS aimed at consolidating the principles of scientific methodology to design a research project leading to the Final Master’s Project.

Competences/Learning outcomes of the degree programme

  • CP01 - Apply the scientific method, experimental design and advanced biostatistics to answer a question or test a hypothesis in a dental research project.
  • CP02 - Communicate the results of research in dentistry in the format of a scientific article, poster, or oral presentation, both at a scientific and academic level.
  • CP03 - Manage the financial and human resources of a research project in dentistry.
  • CP06 - Working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team in the field of dental research.

Learning outcomes of the subject

  • - Master's Thesis - CP01, CP02, CP04, CP05, CP06, CP07 - 1. Design a research paper based on the scientific method. 2. Write an appropriate introduction, justification, objectives, hypothesis, state of the art, materials and methods, results, discussion and conclusions for your master's thesis. 3. Conduct a critical-scientific analysis of your results. 4. Defend your master's thesis before a committee in English.

Syllabus

The Final Master's Project (“TFM”) is the final result of the student/s work, tutored by a member of the teaching staff, where they put into practice all the knowledge acquired during the program. Students must complete the work on the final project, applying the knowledge acquired regarding clinical research and materials. The research supervisor will oversee the collection of research, analysis, findings and conclusions to ensure the acquisition of skills. It will be assessed in accordance with the specific rules for the assessment of TFM.
