Objectives

At the Institute for Multilingualism, we carry out research in the field of applied linguistics, oversee overall language quality at UIC Barcelona, manage and promote multilingualism and sociocultural enrichment and work to improve the language skills of the entire university community: students, teaching staff and administrative staff.

We at the Institute teach languages for specific purposes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, provide staff members training in Content and Language Integrated Learning and develop initiatives to support the transfer of knowledge and university language policy.

The research and knowledge transfer projects that we at the Institute for Multilingualism carry out are linked to the education we provide. Through this approach we help raise the level of professionalism and internationalisation at the university and enhance our society’s level of knowledge and productive activity.
