Within the framework of the Expansion of International Studies programme, the grant awarded by SGAE Foundation allows Luis Meseguer, an alum of Audiovisual Communication, to investigate the relationship between contemporary and sacred music at the University of Saint Andrews (Scotland)

Composer and Audiovisual Communication graduate Luis Meseguer has received a grant from the SGAE Foundation for the creation of and research in sacred music. This grant, which is part of the international studies expansion programme, allows him to carry out research at the University of Saint Andrews (Scotland) for one year.

Meseguer will analyse the connection between contemporary music and sacred music under the supervision of prominent figures such as British composer Sir James MacMillan, known for his contributions to the world of sacred and contemporary music. This experience will help Luis Meseguer develop his academic knowledge as well as boost his career as a composer.

The grant awarded by the SGAE Foundation is intended to promote artistic creation and research within the framework of sacred music. The support will allow him to explore the roots of this type of music as well as its application and influence on contemporary composition.

A former graduate student of the Bachelor's Degree in Audiovisual Communication, Luis Meseguer was the conductor of the Ánima Choir at UIC Barcelona from 2022 to 2024.
