The Faculty of Dentistry participates in the LEADER programme of the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) once again

The Faculty has reinforced its commitment to quality and academic excellence by participating in the prestigious international programme that recognises schools with strategies focused on educational quality and teaching innovation

The Faculty of Dentistry of UIC Barcelona has received the certificate from the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) after completing its third year of the LEADER Excellence Programme in recognition of the continuous improvement in the quality of dental education.

The main objective of the international LEADER programme is to make use of existing quality assurance processes in the academic institutions that are part of the initiative to facilitate peer review by other universities and colleges within dentistry in Europe. As part of the programme, participating centres conduct self-assessment reports and receive visits from representatives of the ADEE who review the corresponding quality standards. Peer review fosters alignment with the highest standards in higher education in dentistry through continuous quality improvement, as well as the exchange of teaching innovations and good practices with other educators.

The ADEE LEADER Certificate of Excellence is added to the international accreditation of the American Dental Association obtained in 2023, making UIC Barcelona the first Spanish university to be accredited by the American Dental Association’s Continuing Education Provider Recognition Program (ADA CERP) for lifelong learning.

As Dr Lluís Giner, dean of the Faculty of Dentistry explained, “having this prestigious accreditation is a recognition not only of the high quality of training we offer, but also of our commitment to the profession both nationally and internationally”.
