The IESF holds a training day to address adolescents' common questions about sexuality
“Does making love a lot have side effects?” was the title of the second conference of the series “Healthy sexuality, strong bonds” organised by the UIC Barcelona Institute of Advanced Family Studies, which brought together leading academic experts in affective-sexual education
The Institute of Advanced Family Studies of UIC Barcelona organised the second part of the series “Healthy sexuality, strong ties” on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 October. The session “Does making love a lot have side effects?” consisted of a practical workshop with 50 participants, among whom were educators and parents who were interested in deepening the affective-sexual education of young people. “In affective-sexual education, not only content is important, but also methodology, the way you approach and welcome the concerns of adolescents,” says Belén Zárate from the Institute of Advanced Family Studies.
This second session was given by experts in family counselling Estela Alonso and Mónica Campos, teachers of the project “Let's Learn to Love”, who shared their extensive experience in the field of affective-sexual education. The workshop was divided into two parts. The first part addressed tools and attitudes for listening to young people's questions, and the second part was an intensive workshop on the methodology of answering these questions.
The Institute of Advanced Family Studies will hold the third part of this training series on 8 and 9 November at UIC Barcelona with the following heading: “Growing in a hypersexualised culture: fashion, social networks, music and literature”. It will include new workshops focused on answering the most frequent questions about sexuality in adolescents in a context increasingly influenced by social networks.
