The two lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and professionals from the Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa (CST) (Terrassa Health Consortium), a partner of the University, have been recognised with the prestigious award from the Official College of Doctors of Barcelona (CoMB)
Doctors Jaume Boadas and Mireia Llonch, lecturers at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UIC Barcelona, are among the 51 doctors and 4 healthcare teams from the counties of Barcelona who have been recognised for excellence and quality in their professional activity. The event organised by the Official College of Doctors of Barcelona was held 25 November at the L’Illa Auditorium in Barcelona.
Dr Jaume Boadas was awarded in the Humanities, Cooperation and Management category. Specialising in the digestive system, Boadas is a lecturer on the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and head of the Digestive Health Service of the Terrassa Health Consortium (CST), a partner organisation of UIC Barcelona.
Dr Mireia Llonch was honoured in the category of other Care Areas. Llonch teaches the subject “Ageing, Pluripathology and Chronicity” on the Bachelor’s Degree of Medicine and is director of Intermediate Care and Dependencies and head of the Geriatrics Service of the CST.
The Awards for Professional Excellence have been given since 2004 and are awarded in the fields of hospital medicine, primary care, public and mental health, social and health care, biomedical research, medical education and medical humanities to professionals who have excelled in upholding and putting into practice the values of medical professionalism: altruism, honesty, teamwork and excellence. There were also four multidisciplinary care teams that have stood out during the year for their professional work and teamwork.
Over the years, around 900 professionals and 45 teams have been honoured.
