The Master's Degree in Cultural Management expands its connection with the music industry and signs an agreement with BIME
This collaboration agreement with one of the most important international meetings for the music industry in Bilbao and Bogotá expands UIC Barcelona's space for reflection on the challenges facing this artistic sector
For the 2024-2025 academic year, the UIC Barcelona Master's Degree in Cultural Management has signed an agreement to collaborate with BIME, the prestigious international music industry event that has been held in Bilbao (Spain) since 2013 and also in Bogotá (Colombia) starting in 2022. With this new agreement, the Master's programme adds a new partner to its list of more than 500 agreements, with the aim of "expanding its space to reflect on the challenges that drive the future of the sector and the enjoyment of live music in Latin America”, says Christoph Pasour, director of the course.
This agreement responds to one of the degree's strategies of constantly expanding its network of collaborations with all the different cultural sectors, linking its students and alums with companies and national and international initiatives such as BIME. “This international meeting has become one of the most important in the music sector and a space to create synergies between continents, discover the most promising emerging talents, share knowledge and discover the latest developments in the cultural and creative industries,” says Pasour, who directs one of the most international and multicultural master's degrees at the University.
This collaboration agreement provides the university community with the opportunity to attend the meetings that will be held during the academic year, in Latin America in May and in Spain from 29 October to 1 November. “In addition, by signing this agreement with BIME, the university community of the Master's Degree in Cultural Management, made up of more than 994 professionals from 79 nationalities, will have access to a digital platform where they can interact with the professionals attending this meeting and follow the event, both live and recorded,” explains Claudia Balboa, coordinator of the degree, with the aim of fostering connections, learning and the dissemination of knowledge throughout the year.
This new agreement also offers a space to position UIC Barcelona and its Master's Degree in Cultural Management in an international event through which it can achieve a greater reputation by contributing as a collaborating centre in creating new alternative routes in the music industry, facilitating and multiplying artistic and professional flows between Latin America and Europe.
The Master's Degree in Cultural Management has more than 500 agreements with companies in the cultural sector, has 61 students from 30 nationalities and is recognised in the sector as one of the most international and multicultural master’s degrees.
