Professional experience
Juan del Río is a biologist, activist, facilitator, educator and researcher for sustainability. He is Codirector of ECOLISE (European Network of community-led initiatives on climate change and sustainability), and co-founder and part of the coordination team of Red de Transición (Transition Spain). Since 2006 he has focused his work on promoting new collaborative models of sustainable living and local resilience, having worked in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Juan is the author of "Guía del movimiento de Transición", the first book about transition in Spanish, and Codirector of the documentary Alter Natives. He lives in Cardedeu, Barcelona, where he takes part in community resilience projects like Cardedeu en Transició, the food coop La Fresca, and a permacultural garden in Esbioesfera.Subjects taught
