Professional experience

Dr. Montserrat Alegret is a Neuropsychologist, currently Coordinator of the Clinical Neuropsychology Unit of Fundació ACE, she has extensive experience in the diagnosis, clinical management, neuropsychological evaluation, cognitive stimulation and research of different neurodegenerative diseases, having previously worked in groups of recognized research in Neurology and Neuropsychology (Dep. Psychobiology and Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Psychology, University of Barcelona and the Movement Disorders Unit, Hospital Clínic Barcelona). She obtained the 3rd National Prize for Completion of Psychology Studies awarded by the Ministry (BOE 18-July-96) and the Extraordinary Prize for Bachelor's Degree 1995-96, awarded by the Universitat Autònoma Barcelona. He completed his thesis on "Cognitive functions related to frontobasal circuits: effects of surgical and pharmacological treatment in Parkinson's disease" at the University of Barcelona, obtaining the qualification of Outstanding cum laude unanimously. He has 70 publications of recognized international prestige, as well as 4 book chapters in dementia manuals. From 2003 to 2006 she was a researcher of a FIS project on preclinical Huntington's disease, and from 2007 to 2010 she was principal investigator of a FIS project on mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease , giving rise to six publications in prestigious scientific journals, reflecting his interest in the early phases of neurodegenerative diseases. He is currently part of the research team of national (FACEHBI) and international projects (e.g., MOPEAD) on the detection In addition, she is Associate Editor of the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease and the Revista Iberoamericana de Neuropsicología, as well as a reviewer for other international journals (e.g., Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatrty, Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology).
