Núria Casals PhD

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy (1989) and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (1995) from the Universitat de Barcelona.

I also hold a Master’s degree in Health Economics and Policy from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (1994).

Currently, I am the head of the Pharmacology Unit in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (since 1998).

My area of interest is in the study of lipid metabolism in different animal models, from the genetic, biochemical and molecular perspectives.  At the moment, I’m the group leader of a marvelous research team focused in fatty acid metabolism in the brain.
