Introduction

Research is a process that must be integrated into our clinical practice, and its main purpose is to increase scientific knowledge in society in general and among health professionals. To correctly disseminate research findings, data must be carefully collected and analysed.

Pre-course requirements

Basic knowledge of biostatistics is required.

Objectives

To provide training and tools for the students to perform statistical analysis of research and learn how to interpret and communicate their results. 

Learning outcomes of the subject

  • The student understands and interprets the fundamental and specific concepts of biostatistics related to research in dentistry.
  • The student knows how to use statistical tools properly in order to complete the analysis of their research data.
  • The student uses specific computing tools to search literature.
