To accompany Imperfect Families

The post-modern cultural context represents a real challenge for the development of family relationships. Faced with this challenge, the question arises: “nowadays who is making an effort to strengthen marriages, to help married couples overcome their problems, to assist them in the work of raising children and, in general, to encourage the stability of the marriage bond?” (Amoris Laetitia No. 52).

To try to respond to this need, in 2022 the Institute for Advanced Family Studies organised the 1st International Workshop on Family Support, which brought together more than 800 people from five continents.

That same year, the Postgraduate Degree in Family Coaching and Guidance was also launched, with the aim of training educators for this urgent task.

This year, two anniversaries coincide in relation to the promotion and support of the family. It is the 30th anniversary of the International Year of the Family as declared by the United Nations in 1994, and at the same time we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Institute of Advanced Family Studies, which began its work in 2004.

This conference will be a way to celebrate these two anniversaries, providing concrete ideas on how to provide support and encourage action in those who wish to participate in them.
