As part of the celebrations for Europe Day, the Charlemagne Institute for European Studies has organised a round table on Brexit.  What will the consequences of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union be?  How will it affect the economy, security and governmental organisation?  In the legal field, how will it be carried out and what will it mean?  These are some of the issues we will talk about with our speakers: 

— Araceli Mangas Martín, a lawyer and full professor at the Completes University of Madrid.  Specialist in international and European law.  Jean Monnet Chair (1990-1991), and an academic member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences.  In 1995 she was appointed a member of the Comité des Sages in the European Commission to provide advice on the reform of the Maastricht Treaty.

— Carlos Cavallé, is general emeritus director at IESE Business School, emeritus professor in the department of Strategic Management and president of the Social Trends Institute. His areas of specialisation include training executives, strategic management and leadership. 

— Milagros Álvarez Verdugo, tenured professor of International Public Law and International Relations at the University of Barcelona. Her lines of research include the EU’s external relations, international security, international cooperation in the area of nuclear energy and the internal market (rights related to competitiveness, citizenship, and the free movement of workers).
