Talk- Colloquium with Dr Tess Knighton The talk will be on a life dedicated to research, along with the challenges this activity involves in the 21st century. The event will be open to the whole university community.  

Tess Knighton holds a PhD in History of Art and Musicology from the University of Cambridge and was a researcher at Clare College, Cambridge, for fifteen years before being appointed Fellow Emeritus. Since 2011 she has been ICREA professor for Research at the Milà i Fontanals Institution (CSIC) in Barcelona. In July 2012 she was awarded a Marie Curie grant for a research project on cultural history and urban music at the beginning of modern Barcelona. Her lines of research cover music and culture in the Iberian world from the 15th century to the beginning of the  seventeenth century, and she has published widely in this field.  She was editor of the OUP Journal Early Music between 1993 and 2009 and is currently editor for the Studies in Medieval and Renaissance Music collection at Boydell Press.
