Talk entitled: “Luther: 500 years later”
On 31 October 1517, the Augustinian priest Martin Luther hung a critical document known as The 95 Theses on the door of the All Saints' Church, in Wittenberg, Germany. His gesture led to a profound religious debate, that also covered political, economic and social ground.
As part of the V centenary of this gesture that led to the Protestant Reformation, the Faculty of Humanities has organised a talk to be given by Dr Josep-Ignasi Saranyana, open to all members of the university community.
Dr Saranyana is an emeritus professor of the History of Theology at the University of Navarra as well as a scientific researcher at CSIC (Madrid). He is also a member of the Pontífical Academy of Sciences (Vatican City) and is the founder of the Anuario de Historia de la Iglesia journal (Pamplona).
