Access vias
Upper-secondary school/baccalaureate students (Via 0)
In order to apply to UIC Barcelona after completing upper-secondary school/baccalaureate in Spain, you will need to:
- Fill out the admissions application
- Submit the documentation requested as part of the admissions application, inside the admissions portal
- Complete the entrance exam
- Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll need to pay the required amount to reserve your place
At some point from July onwards, your advisor will ask you for the following documentation in order to complete your enrolment:
- Results from the university entrance exam showing a secure verification code (CSV code)
- Attested copy of your upper-secondary school/baccalaureate leaving certificate or a copy of your qualification certificate
- Copy of the receipt of payment for your upper-secondary school/baccalaureate leaving certificate (photocopy)
Students who have completed a university degree (Via 2)
In order to apply to UIC Barcelona after completing a university degree, you will need to:
- Fill out the admissions application
- Submit the documentation requested as part of the admissions application, inside the admissions portal
- Complete the entrance exam
- Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll need to pay the required amount to reserve your place
At some point from July onwards, your advisor will ask you for the following documentation in order to complete your enrolment:
- An attested photocopy of your original Spanish university degree certificate or a copy of the receipt of payment to obtain your university degree certificate
- Personal academic transcript stamped by your institution, or a certificate showing your marks and a secure verification code (CSV)
If you would like to validate subjects from your previous degree programme on one of our degree programmes, you will need to submit the following documents in addition to your enrolment documentation:
- The degree programme curriculum with the university’s original stamp
- Copy of the programme of subjects you have passed with the university’s original stamp
- Proposal for official recognition to be specified with your advisor
- Transfer conditions document
Students who have not yet competed their university degree (Via 7)
In order to apply to UIC Barcelona if you are in the process of completing a university degree, *you will need to:
- Fill out the admissions application
- Submit the documentation requested as part of the admissions application, inside the admissions portal
- Complete the entrance exam
- Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll need to pay the required amount to reserve your place
At some point from July onwards, your advisor will ask you for the following documentation in order to complete your enrolment:
- Digitally verified personal academic transcript or an attested copy
- Photocopy of the proof of payment for the transfer of academic records
If you would like to validate subjects from your previous degree programme on one of our degree programmes, you will need to bring the following in addition to your enrolment documentation:
- The degree programme curriculum with the university’s original stamp
- A copy of the programme of subjects you have passed with the university’s original stamp
- Proposal for official recognition to be specified with your advisor
- Transfer conditions document

Mature students older than 25 and 45 years old (Via 9 and 11)
Applicants who are older than 25 and 45 years old who wish to study at UIC Barcelona will need to:
- Fill out the admissions application
- Submit the documentation requested as part of the admissions application, inside the admissions portal
- Complete the entrance exam
- Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll need to pay the required amount to reserve your place
All Catalan universities use the same access route for potential students who are older than 25 and 45 years old applying to university. The only difference is that they must enrol at the university where they would like to study. Link Generalitat
At some point from July onwards, your advisor will ask you for the following documentation in order to complete your enrolment:
- Original accreditation for access for students older than 25 and 45 years old and with the secure verification code (CSV)
Mature students older than 40 years old (Via 10)
If you are older than 40 years old and are looking to apply to UIC Barcelona, you don't possess the qualifications necessary to access university but you are able to confirm you have ten years’ professional experience in a field related to the degree programme you are applying for, you will need to:
- Fill out the admissions application
- Submit the documentation requested as part of the admissions application, inside the admissions portal
- Complete the entrance exam
- Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll need to pay the required amount to reserve your place
In addition to the necessary documentation, you will also need to send your advisor the following:
- Curriculum vitae
- Social security employment record from the General Treasury of the Social Security (original and photocopy).
- Official earnings record that specifies the employee’s responsibilities (original and photocopy).
- Letter of recommendation
International students (Via 12, 13 and 14)
In order to access UIC Barcelona as an international student, you will need to:
- Fill out the admissions application
- Submit the documentation requested as part of the admissions application, inside the admissions portal
- Complete the entrance exam
- Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll need to pay 20% of the place reservation.
At some point from July onwards, your advisor will ask you for the following documentation in order to complete your enrolment:
Students applying from foreign non-university studies *:
- Students applying from the European education system or from an international baccalaureate will have to complete their UNEDassis.
- Students applying from the NON-European education system will have to submit their baccalaureate certificate homologation the conditional registration leaflet, a document that the Spanish Ministry of Education will provide you once you start the homologation of your non-university foreign studies. Students applying from university who have not yet completed their degree programme, who have not yet homologated their degree in Spain, will need at least 30 validable credits in order to apply through this access route.
- Original transcript together with a sworn or apostilled translation into Spanish.
You may request validation/recognition of previously passed subjects if you have already gained a minimum of 30 validable credits. We recommend you ask your advisor. In order to validate your credits, you will need to submit:
- Curriculum stamped by your university and translated into Spanish.
- Programme of passed subjects, stamped by your university and translated into Spanish.
- Proposal for official recognition to be specified with your advisor, a document you can find at your student profile once you fill out the admission form.
- Transfer conditions document, a document you can find at your student profile once you fill out the admission form.
Students who have completed their degree programme and had it homologated:
- Homologation of the degree issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport
- Original academic transcript that has been translated and apostilled. Translated to reflect the Spanish system.
You may request validation/recognition of previously passed subjects if you have already gained a minimum of 30 credits. We recommend you ask your advisor. In order to validate your credits, you will need to submit:
- Curriculum stamped by your university and translated into Spanish.
- Programme of passed subjects, stamped by the university and translated into Spanish.
- Proposal for official recognition to be specified with your advisor a document you can find at your student profile once you fill out the admission form.
- Transfer conditions document a document you can find at your student profile once you fill out the admission form.
Students from advanced vocational training courses (CFGS) (Via 4)
In order to apply to UIC Barcelona from an advanced vocational training course, you will have to:
- Fill out the admissions application
- Submit the documentation requested as part of the admissions application, inside the admissions portal
- Complete the entrance exam
- Once you’ve been accepted, you’ll need to pay the required amount to reserve your place
To do that, you’ll need to send the following documentation to your advisor:
- Original transcript issued by your institution and in the case of having completed work experience, attach the mark you received for completing this placement.
- Attested copy of your CFGS qualification (if you do not yet have this document, please send b) a copy of the receipt of payment to obtain your qualification certificate + proof of payment stamped by the bank and displaying the date the payment was made.
