3rd International Legal Language

Saló de Graus

The Faculty of Law is organising the third International Legal Language Meeting on Thursday, 25 May, at the UIC Barcelona Saló de Graus, with the aim of thinking and analysing through different modules on the use of legal language in other countries and in companies.

The meeting can be followed virtually and in person and is part of the Generalitat de Catalunya Research Group (2021 SGR 01336), “Rights, Agenda 2030 Sustainable Recovery in Catalonia (RESCAT 2030)” at UIC Barcelona.

5.00 p.m. Start and introduction

Ricardo-María Jiménez-Yáñez and Maria Mut, directors of the third Legal Language event. UIC Barcelona lecturers.

5.15 - 6.00 p.m. Module I. Legal language of lawyers in Argentina and Mexico: issues and challenges. 

  • Gabriela Cid de León

Undergraduate degree in Law from the Universidad Panamericana and postgraduate degree in Civil Law and Contracts from the University of Salamanca.

  • Carmen De Cucco Alconada

Lawyer. Editor. Author of the Manual de escritura de textos jurídicos en lenguaje claro [Manual for Writing Legal Texts in Clear Language], Hammurabi. Doctoral student in Legal Sciences (writing legal texts).

6.15 - 7.00 p.m. Module II. Management before laws and regulations

  • Ferran Miquel

Head of ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) at ISDIN. Industrial Engineer from UPC, Executive MBA from IESE, MIB from ISDI and Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management from ICIL.

  • Pablo Franquet

Lawyer and partner in the Banking Litigation and Procedural Department at Fieldfisher España commercial law firm. He specialises in banking and commercial litigation, as well as cassation appeals before the Supreme Court.

  • Félix Navas

Lawyer in the M&A Department at AGM Abogados law firm, at the Barcelona headquarters. Undergraduate degree in Law from UPF and Double Master’s Degree (Law and Business Law) from the University of Navarra.
