ABOUT

Every spring since the 2014-2015 academic year, the Institute for Multilingualism has organised the Spring Research Seminar, an annual research event that takes place on-site at UIC Barcelona. What began as a small-scale seminar has grown into an international meeting, and this year for the first time, we are celebrating the Spring Research Conference.  Our main objective is to offer a platform for researchers in the fields of linguistics, applied linguistics and psycholinguistics to exchange research updates on topics related to teaching, learning and acquisition of languages and multilingual education.

Each year other universities take part, such as the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the University of Barcelona, Pompeu Fabra University, the University of Navarra and the University of the Basque Country.

The main lines of research carried out at the Institute for Multilingualism and the GRAM Research Group are concerned with analysing the different contexts of foreign language learning. We are primarily interested in the development of multilingualism through naturalistic, immersion and formal language acquisition.
