Conference for the prevention of suicide in young people

Campus Barcelona i Campus Sant Cugat

Within the framework of World Suicide Prevention Day, and as a university committed to society and mental health, UIC Barcelona has organised a two-day conference on 9 and 10 September with the aim of raising awareness among the population and contributing to the prevention of suicide among young people.

On Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 September several activities will be held in the two campuses of the University, as well as in other places in Barcelona and Sant Cugat. One important event  will be the premiere of the documentary La xarxa invisible. Un documental sobre la prevenció del suïcidi en joves (The Invisible Net. A Documentary on the Prevention of Suicide in Young People), produced by UIC Barcelona.

The documentary and the conference have the collaboration of the Department of Health of the Government of Catalonia, the City of Barcelona, the City of Sant Cugat, the Catalan Association for the Prevention of Suicide (ACPS), the Association for the Prevention of Suicide and Survivor Care (APSAS), Manos Amigas, After Suicide – Survivor Association (DSAS), the Aid and Hope Foundation, Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, Hospital Universitari Parc Taulí, the Accident and Emergency System of Catalonia (SEM), Eurest and Support, the UIC Barcelona University Psychology and Psychiatry Clinic.
