Entrepreneurship series of seminars 2021: Entrepreneurship in times of pandemic

Online

Alumni Office and the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at UIC Barcelona have joined forces to launch the Entrepreneurship series of seminars 2021, which consists of presentations and round table discussions that aim to promote entrepreneurship at university. Everything from success stories through to experiences in the creation of start-ups, spin-offs and innovative businesses will be discussed, while offering tools to support entrepreneurship related to financing, legal requirements and public tools that can help a new business get off the ground. In addition, discussions will also focus on how the pandemic has influenced entrepreneurship.

The series forms part of the new GaudiR programme, which was designed to provide support, guidance and training in research and knowledge transfer to all UIC Barcelona teaching staff.

Therefore, the objective of the Entrepreneurship series of seminars 2021 is to encourage the entire university community to understand how the world of entrepreneurship works, and foster this vocation among researchers, students and Alumni members in order to promote innovative and financially successful projects.

The series’ opening session will take place on 23 March from 6.30 pm to 8 p.m. under the title “Entrepreneurship in times of pandemic”. This first session will take the form of a round table, held online and free to access, in which several entrepreneurs from different sectors will share their experiences of turning an idea into a business, and the financial challenges that have faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will begin with a welcome from UIC Barcelona's Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer, Jordi Villà, and will be moderated by Carlos Cosials, director of the University’s Executive Master’s Degree in Big Data Science.

The speakers of this first talk, entitled “Entrepreneurship in times of pandemic” are:
