Inauguration of the exhibition: "Urban Plunge: New Designs for Natural Swimming in our Cities" in the Roca Gallery Barcelona

Joan Güell, 211-213, 08028 Barcelona Roca Barcelona Gallery

As a result of a competition organised by the Roca Gallery Barcelona on 19 January the inauguration for an exhibition entitled "Urban Plunge Barcelona" will be held, in which projects by nine students from the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture will be shown, as well as projects by other students from ETSAB, La Salle and the Rovira i Virgili University.

You can visit the exhibition from 20 January to 23 April, and the prizes will be awarded on 7 April. The jury members include Janes Withers (a designer and curator for the ʻUrban Plungeʼ exhibition in London), Estel Ortega (architect), Félix Arranz (architect) and Carme Pinós (architect) as well as a representative of Barcelona City Council.

Due to its potential and demographic significance, the school pupils chose the Besòs river in order to undertake their architectural project for the transformation of an urban river into a public space for leisure, giving citizens a new perspective on the protagonism of water in the city. The project should take into account future development which may take place in Barcelona and be able to adapt to certain social, economic, cultural and environmental aspects and conditions that are continuously evolving.
