Jan de Vylder, Inge Vinck and Jo Taillieu created De Vylder Vinck Taillieu studio (dvvt) in 2009 in Ghent, Belgium, and now lead a new generation of architects who are changing architecture in Belgium, which is currently one of the most interesting countries in terms of architecture. The members of dvvt will use examples of their work to explain the importance of the architect’s critical approach to social responsibility, as well as how this vision can become a tool to get more out of each project. For dvvt, it is important to approach the future by focusing on the metier (architect's craft).

The members of De Vylder Vinck Taillieu work at all scales with the same intensity and enthusiasm: drawing and understanding the process, design and production, from small to big, from table to campus, from family to public client; from cultural commission to investment assignment. With this philosophy, they created the company JIJ'S in 2011 to produce objects and furniture.

Their work has awarded with the Belgian Building Award several times. They were nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Prize for their projects Les Ballets C de la B & Lod and Rot-Ellen-Berg and Twiggy. In 2015, they were shortlisted again for the Iakov Chernikhov Prize. dvvt's work has been on exhibition at locations such as the Architecture Biennale in Venice, the Design Biennial in Istanbul and New York's New Museum. This year, an exhibition of their work will be held in Brussels and a book on their work will soon be published by the renowned Spanish magazine El Croquis. The architects have taught classes and given lectures at international architecture schools such as the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio and the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen.
