INTRODUCTION

UIC Barcelona presents Sustainable Mobility for a Safe & Smart Town in collaboration with the Calonge i Sant Antoni Town Council, on 7 and 8 October.

The conference is divided into two independent yet complementary events:

-Talks on Friday 7 October by renowned international experts from the mobility and smart cities sector.

-A challenge on Saturday 8 October open to students and young professionals from different fields of study and degree programmes to present innovative projects and ideas that try to solve real challenges in Calonge.
The competition will be called the Smart Design Business Challenge. It will last for one day and will allow participants to work on the challenge until 5.30 p.m.
It is open to students from UIC Barcelona and any other university, as well as young professionals up to 35 years old. Participation may be individual or in groups of two. A jury of experts will evaluate the projects and announce the winners before the end of the day.

In addition to other benefits, participants could win one of two cash prizes:
-Best project or most sustainable idea: €500
-Best project or most innovative idea: €500

Attendance to both events in Calonge is free of charge, or they can be streamed online.

4.05 p.m. Ultimate Challenge for Smart Mobility | Led by Daniel Oh, Associate Professor of the Department of Smart Cities at Korea University and Special Advisor at WeGo.
 

4.45 p.m. SABA Mobility Hub - Led by Daniel Pardo Pedrero from the Department of Integrations, Projects and Mobility at Saba Infraestructuras

5.30 p.m. Mobility Institute del RACC - Led by Ricard Casalins, head of Mobility Projects at RACC

6.15 p.m. - Office of Architecture Barcelona - By Borja Ferrater, Dr. Architect and founding partner of OAB.

19.00 - 19.45 p.m. Round table and closing by Dr. Maria Isabel Gabarró, Director of the Master in Management of Architecture and Design Companies.
