Contribute to the reduction of poverty and the promotion of peace from school

On the occasion of the First World Day of the Poor that Pope Francis summoned on November 19th, 2017, the Faculty of Education of UIC Barcelona organized the III Conference for teachers of Catholic religion. In these days, we will reflect on Christian values and virtues, with special emphasis on poverty and the promotion of peace.

The message of Pope Francis reminds us that Christians should not love with phrases and words, but with works and truth (1 Jn 3, 18). But how can we put it into practice in the day to day and through the work of the teacher?

The purpose of these days is, on the one hand, to reflect on situations of human misery as challenges that must be overcomed and, on the other, to recognize the value that poverty has in itself.
