What is it?
A 100-hour course, including 50 hours of live video conferencing sessions and 50 hours of autonomous work in the virtual classroom, aimed at preparing students for the Cambridge B2 First certificate. During the course you will work on the language structures, vocabulary, and strategies necessary to successfully pass the Cambridge B2 First exam.
To enrol in this course, it is necessary to certify a minimum level of B2.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). If you do not know your level, please take this level test and contact us.
This course does not include registration for the official Cambridge B2 First exam. Once the course is completed, students can take the exam on the date and at the exam centre of their choice. You will find all the information about exam dates and locations at this link.
Who is it for?
All members of the university community (students, teaching and administrative staff) and non-university members.
How does it work?
Live online classes via video conference.
Live online sessions: The teacher will impart the classes live to the whole group during the assigned timetable via video conference.
Self-study: You will be assigned independent work that you must complete during or after the class session: written activities, readings, various reinforcement exercises, etc.
Where and when?
Course via videoconference.
Dates: from 3 October to 19 December, and from 13 January to 10 April.
Schedule: Mondays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (except Thursdays, 3 and 10 April, which will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.).

Accreditation
Certificate of attendance and completion with credit recognition. To earn this certificate of completion, you must attend at least 80% of the sessions and successfully complete the course.
Credit recognition
This course has a teaching load of 5 ECTS credits. If you are a undergraduate student at UIC Barcelona, you can apply for the recognition of 3 ECTS credits for this course.
