4th edition of the SDG Congress: Climate action, health and ethics

Rules of the competition and presentation of research projects and intervention proposals

Who can present?

Any undergraduate or postgraduate student at UIC Barcelona, in groups of two to six people.

What can be presented?

A problem or issue related to health and climate change and its social consequences must be chosen and researched to provide solutions for improvement. The results of the research must be presented in one of the accepted formats: research project or intervention proposal.

How will it work?

An oral presentation must be made to a group of expert evaluators and the university community that includes the research project or an intervention proposal on a situation or a problem related to climate action (SDG 13) and its ethical and social consequences.

Presentations must be based on research and must present feasible solutions from the perspective of the undergraduate or postgraduate course that students take (education, bioengineering, health, psychology, communication, economics, law...).

If the chosen format is intervention proposal, it must be applicable in a local environment.

What will be evaluated?

The feasibility and sustainability of the project in its presentation and execution will be evaluated.

Evaluation of the research project will look for a rigorous analysis of the problem from a comprehensive sustainability approach, and a strong communicative aspect in the presentation of the project. It must also include the following points: title, theoretical framework, research objectives, research methodology, results, discussion and bibliography. Finally, the presentation should not exceed 10 minutes.

In the intervention proposal category, the following aspects need to be developed: objectives, justification of the intervention proposal, implementation methodology, discussion and bibliography. The presentation time must also be kept to a maximum of 10 minutes.

Recognition

Most of the projects presented will be part of the curriculum of a subject and, therefore, have an evaluation weight in the corresponding subject.
