Online courses available at eight levels, from Pre-Elementary (A1) to Upper Intermediate (B2).
Who?
All members of the university community (students, PAS and PDI) and External students
How?
You have the option to register for either a full course (5 ECTS) or a partial course (2.5 ECTS):
Full course: 120 hours of study material (10 units), equal to one full level of language knowledge (A1, A2, B1, B2) under the CEFR.
Partial course: 60 hours of study material (5 units), equal to half a level of language knowledge under the CEFR.
Where and when?
The course is offered through an online platform that allows you to do the exercises at your pace; all you need is a computer and Internet connection. All the units have voice recognition, for practising and improving pronunciation and oral expression, and a wide variety of tools and features to enhance learning. To see a sample course, click here. Full course:
- UIC Barcelona and external students: € 150
- UIC Barcelona PAS and PDI: € 125
Partial course:
- UIC Barcelona and external students: € 75
- UIC Barcelona PAS and PDI: € 62.50
Certification
Certificate of completion. To earn a certificate, you must successfully complete all online activities and attend all tutoring sessions.
Credit recognition
This course has a workload of 5 ECTS credits (full course) and 2.5 credits (partial course). If you are a UIC Barcelona undergraduate student, you can request recognition of 2 ECTS credits (full course) or 1 credit (partial course) for taking the course. If you are an Erasmus student, you can include this course in your learning agreement. For mobility students, the number of credits recognised for this course will depend on your home university.
