220 secondary school students take the official English B1 and B2 level exam at UIC Barcelona

Over 220 students from 16 Catalan schools did the exam to certify B1 and B2 English levels in the Aula Magna of UIC Barcelona. The exam was promoted by the Innovation in English Language Teaching Classroom with the support of Santillana publishing

The exam, aimed at later secondary school students and early university students, consists of four parts: reading, listening, writing and speaking. The oral exam can be completed on the same day at UIC Barcelona, or over the coming days in the secondary schools.

Certifications and language learning are essential for secondary school students and those in their early years of university, as educational institutions and the working world require official certificates demonstrating knowledge of foreign languages. This initiative is part of the Innovation in English Language Teaching Classroom, now in its ninth year, and has allowed over 1000 students from Catalonia to certify their level of English at UIC Barcelona.

The UIC Barcelona Department of Applied Linguistics encourages certification and language training for all ages with on campus, online and hybrid courses.

Within the Department of Applied Linguistics, the Institute for Multilingualism contributes to the professional skills and international perspective of the University in order to promote knowledge and sociocultural enrichment.

The Innovation in English Language Teaching Classroom is a collaboration agreement between Santillana Publishing and the University to promote the development of teaching activities and knowledge generation and transfer.
