350 people attend Welcome Day

On Saturday 12 November, 350 people attended the welcome session that UIC Barcelona organised to introduce the family members of new students to the centre's teaching staff and facilities.

The event was divided into two parts: the first took place on the Barcelona Campus and included students from all degree programmes, while the second was held in the different faculties. Attendees were shuttled to the Sant Cugat Campus by coach.

The welcome session began with speeches by the Rector and Vice-Rector for the University Community, who placed particular emphasis on the values that make up the identity of UIC Barcelona, in addition to internationalisation, the double degree programmes, degrees taught in English and the importance of extracurricular activities in the students' education.

Later, the students and their family members had the opportunity to visit the facilities and receive information on the various degree programmes. On the Barcelona Campus, they were also treated to a tour of the Faculty of Communication's Digital Media Studios and the classrooms in the School of Architecture. On the Sant Cugat Campus, they were given the chance to see the physiotherapy gymnasiums, the new library, the Clinical Simulation Unit and the Ossuary.

Special mention must be made of the activities arranged by students from the Faculty of Law: a mock trial in the courtroom, and several students from the School of Architecture, who organised a pop, rock and folk music concert.
