The ACE Foundation and UIC Barcelona sign an agreement to cooperate in research on Alzheimer’s disease

The aim of the agreement is to improve the quality of teaching for UIC Barcelona students and promote joint research projects.

The director-general of the ACE Foundation (Barcelona Alzheimer Treatment & Research Centre), Lluís Tárraga, and the rector of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Dr Xavier Gil, signed an agreement to carry out joint actions aimed at promoting training and research on Alzheimer’s disease.

The objectives of this agreement include improving the teaching quality of the clinical and healthcare training received by students at the University in the areas of ageing, Alzheimer’s disease and other related forms of dementia and optimising the human and material resources allocated for research on these conditions.

Dr Albert Balaguer, dean of the Faculty, underlined the opportunity this initiative presents “to work together to improve the future of the sufferers [of the disease] and their families by providing health professionals top-level skills”.
