Artificial intelligence, LinkedIn and the future of the legal profession at the Law conferences

Rosaura Alastruey, expert in networking, gave a session to fourth-year students with some pointers for the profession and trend analysis.

75% of job offers are not posted and, for that reason, it is important to find out how to be considered for both advertised and unadvertised positions. For Rosaura Alastruey, expert in professional networking, the key lies in doing two things: networking and knowing the best information resources.

The expert, who is also the creator and director of ProyectosTIC, gave a session as part of the Law conferences to fourth-year students. Alastruey talked about the importance of networking, making the most of tools like LinkedIn and how artificial intelligence will transform the legal profession over the next ten years. She also showed the students websites to illustrate new ways of practising law: being a project-based lawyer or offering online legal services.

The networking expert also analysed the importance of one’s digital footprint and how this can have a greater or lesser effect on one’s reputation. “The lawyer of tomorrow needs to be their own brand. That’s their responsibility”, she claimed, before adding: “Their personal branding is their professional life insurance”.
