Audiovisual Communication students emulate Hollywood

1st and 2nd-year students from the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication presented the best remakes of iconic film scenes. Under the direction of lecturer Geoffrey Cowper, the students were required to replicate a sequence as part of the second edition of the extracurricular activity “Remaking”.

In a genuinely Hollywood-style setting –with popcorn and an exhibit displaying some of the best costumes worn by the actors in the scenes– the students presented their remakes, parodies of a film shoot, and the difficulties this entailed.

Event attendees were therefore treated to emblematic moments from such films as La La Land, Whiplash, The Big Lebowski, Saturday Night Fever, Dead Poets Society and Risky Business, yet with actors chosen by their fellow classmates, who tried to imitate to the best of their ability the real actors in the scenes in question.

The event ended with a performance by 2nd-year Audiovisual Communication student Alfred Garcia of the Oscar-winning song “City of Stars” from La La Land.
