The Big Four, law firms and multinationals attend the University-Business Day

A total of twenty companies took part in this event which aimed to bring the world of work closer to business and law students

Passeig de la Fontana on the Barcelona campus turned into the quad of the Big Four, law firms and multinationals for the day. As part of the University-Business Day, a total of 26 companies came to the UIC Barcelona campus to tell business and law students about their work placements, and in some cases, entry-level jobs.

EY, PwC, Deloitte and KPMG – the Big Four – set up stands in the central quad on the Barcelona campus, along with multinationals such as Würth, Everis, Grant Thornton, Nestlé, Danone and Media Markt. These companies were also joined by:  CaixaBank, Mapfre, Cuatrecasas, Ramón y Cajal Abogados, AGM Abogados, Desigual, Amat & Vidal-Quadras, Nautal, BDO, Page Personnel, Garrigues, Pérez- Llorca, Pimec and Mediolanum.

“For the business and law faculties, it’s been essential to run this day since we have 115 business students and 65 law students who have to carry out work placements as part of their degrees. Moreover, the feedback from the day, both on the part of the companies and the students, has been really positive”, said lecturer in the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, Noelia Jiménez.

“We were especially thrilled to host alumni from our business degrees, who came to talk about the companies they have joined and to recruit new talent”, Jiménez added.

The work placement coordinator in the Faculty of Law, Reyes Alcón, noted that the event “is an excellent opportunity for students get to know the recruitment and HR teams at recruiting firms for themselves, as well as hearing from former students who are now working at these firms”.
