The Bosch Aymerich Family Business Chair presents the book 'Challenges and Risks of the Family Business'
The event was attended by Jordi de Juan and Antoni Bosch, coordinators of the book and lecturers of the Faculty of Law of UIC Barcelona
On 21 March, the College of Notaries of Catalonia hosted the presentation of the book Retos y riesgos de la empresa familiar (Challenges and Risks of the Family Business), funded, directed and coordinated by the Chair of Family Business of UIC Barcelona. Other chairs integrated in the Network of Chairs of the Family Business, linked to the Institute of Family Business also participated in the book.
The book's coordinators, Jordi de Juan, director of the Chair of Family Business and Antoni Bosch, former lecturer of the Faculty of Law of UIC Barcelona, took part in the presentation ceremony. In his speech, Jordi de Juan stressed the importance of taking into account three basic aspects in any succession process: business, family and property. “With these factors in mind and faced from a multidimensional perspective, intergenerational change can be guaranteed,” says the lawyer.
Antoni Bosch stressed the importance of succession agreements and recalled that succession is key in a family business: “If a company exceeds the first generation and passes to the second, it becomes a driving factor, benefiting the family, managers, employees and the customers themselves.”
The presentation was also attended by Jaume Alsina, president of the Catalan Association of Family Business and Ramon Santos, partner of the family business department of Crowe Legal and Tax. The event concluded with a speech from José Alberto Marin, dean of the College of Notaries of Catalonia.
