The Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, Dr Toni Mora, and Professors Dolors Gil and Marta Trapero participated in the XXXVI Conference on Health Economics.
The Spanish Health Economics Association organised a new edition of its health economics conference which this year took place in Murcia. Dr Toni Mora is a spokesperson for the association and also participated in organising the event, as well as acting as moderator for the round table on “Copago” [pharmaceutical co-payments].
Professors Marta Trapero and Dolors Gil participated in the round table on “Hábitos y calidad de vida” [Habits and Quality of Life] via their talk entitled “Taxonomy of treating and preventing programs for alcohol intake: a systematic review of economic evaluations”.
The talk given by professors Trapero and Gil was about the lines of research which are being carried out via the Chair in Public Economy: Evaluation of Healthcare and Educational Policies via an agreement UIC Barcelona holds with the Eurest company. Specifically, it was framed within the category of cost analysis studies, effectiveness and studies on the educational gradient and pharmaceutical co-payments.
The motto for the conference was “Las reformas bajo el microscopio” [Reforms under the Microscope]. There was an invitation to reflect on the need to undertake significant reforms and to scrutinise those that have been undertaken, in order to contribute to improving system indicators, particularly those that are directly related to healthcare results.
