Communication students will be able to complete their studies at UCLA

UIC Barcelona and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), have signed an agreement via which Faculty of Communication, ADE and Architecture students can participate in a certificate program in various areas of specialisation.

The agreement will allow UIC Barcelona students who have completed a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, Audiovisual Communication, Business Administration and Management (ADE) and Architecture, to take UCLA professionalising extension programmes. They will be eligible for a 15% discount.

The benefits that students obtain through this new agreement are multiple: as well as a reduction in the cost of the program, it also offers unique opportunities for professional experience in the United States. On the one hand, it allows students to do undertake work experience related to the programme in the United States while studying, and on the other hand, it also offers the option to stay and work in the country once the programme is over and obtain a 12-month work permit.

In the words of the Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Alfonso Méndiz, “the agreement with UCLA is a strategic move. Along with New York, Los Angeles is the hub of the North-American audiovisual industry, and one of the most important in terms of media, advertising and public relations agencies and all types of journalism.  Its strategic location means it is the ideal place for our students to complement their education”.
