The Comprehensive Centre for Advanced Simulation hosts the first workshop of the Castelldefels Health Agents Consortium project ‘Interpersonal Skills in Primary Care Teams’

The Castelldefels Health Agents Consortium (CASAP) chose the Comprehensive Centre for Advanced Simulation (CISA) as the setting for a training session on interpersonal skills and teamwork for its workers thanks to its modern facilities, advanced technology and experienced teaching staff.

The workshop is the result of a cooperation agreement between UIC Barcelona and CASAP. The team of Dr Àngels Martos, head of the CISA and vice-dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences; Dr Montse Virumbrales, academic coordinator of the CISA; and Dr Emili Gené, the tutor of Family Medicine, a subject in the Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, was charged with leading the session.

This activity, part of the project “‘Interpersonal Skills in Primary Care Teams”, was intended for workers from the Paediatrics Unit of CASAP and focused on aspects of communication, teamwork and conflict management. The ten attendees had the opportunity to learn from practical cases and the simulation of daily situations, thanks to the CISA’s modern facilities, the participation of specially trained actors with experience in simulating healthcare situations and the team’s experience with simulation-based approaches to teaching.
