Dean Méndiz attends the annual meeting of the Deans of Information and Communication Sciences

Discussion addressed several issues, including the creation of a national award for the best Final Bachelor’s Degree Project in all three degree programmes.

On 15 and 16 November, the dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Alfonso Méndiz, attended the annual meeting of the Deans of Information and Communication Sciences in Antequera (Málaga).

The participants discussed a number of issues, including the creation of a national award for the best Final Bachelor’s Degree Project in all three degree programmes (Journalism, Audiovisual Communication and Journalism), as well as training and employment seminars for students.

They also analysed the proposal for the Ministry of Education to recognise their graduates’ ability to teach specific subjects (Audiovisual Culture, Media Studies, etc.) and related subjects, such as Spanish, at secondary and upper secondary level.

The meeting was sponsored by the local newspaper El Sol de Antequera, one of the oldest in Spain, which is currently celebrating its centennial anniversary. The event took place in the plenary hall of the city council, which hosted the meeting.
