On 3 October the Faculty of Philosophy at Ramon Llull University organised an international conference entitled “¿Crisis del arte en crisis? Tradición, política y arte global” [Crisis of art in crisis? Tradition, politics and global art]. Dr Moya, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, gave a talk entitled “Recursos del arte contemporáneo” [Contemporary art resources], in which he talked about the use of resources of resistance. Using these resources art can face the numerous challenges that are found in fields that are strongly destabilising such as generalised aestheticization or artistic capitalism.
If these resources are put into practice, contemporary art will manage to preserve, although not without paying a high price, the peculiarity, value and authenticity of the artistic experience. It will do so in such a way that it can then vindicate its right to a space for autonomous self-reflection.
The speakers also included professors from La Sapienza University of Rome, the Pontifical University of Comillas and Ramon Llull University.
