Dr Alfonso Méndiz becomes certified as Full Professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising
Dr Alfonso Méndiz, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at UIC Barcelona has been certified as Full Professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain (ANECA).
Dr Alfonso Méndiz, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at UIC Barcelona has been certified as Full Professor of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain (ANECA). Thus, Méndiz achieves the highest academic recognition possible at university level, in addition to his prior academic, professional, teaching and research honours.
Méndiz’s lines of research are:
“New Advertising Formats: Branded Content, Product Placement and Social Media”.
“Advertising and Values: Childhood, Image of Women and Social Advertising”.
“Films, Series and Life Styles”.
Alfonso Méndiz has a PhD in Public Communication. He has written 17 books and over 50 scientific articles. According to Google Scholar, his research has been cited 470 times. He was a lecturer in Audiovisual Communication and Advertising at the University of Malaga, where he directed the University’s Master’s Degree in Communication and Leadership. Previous to this, he was a lecturer in Audiovisual Narrative and Assistant Director of the Department of Culture and Audiovisual Communication at the University of Navarre. He has been a visiting researcher at the University of La Sabana (Colombia), Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel) and Catholic University of Milan (Italy). In the US, he studied film at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA), where he earned a degree in Production in Motion Pictures & Television. During his time in Los Angeles, he worked at the production company of Jerry Ziesmer, Francis Ford Coppola's assistant director.
