Dr Anna Hospital, professor of Legal and Forensic Dentistry, has received the Saint George Cross award from the Catalan Government

Dr Hospital is a professor in Legal and Forensic Dentistry at UIC Barcelona, and received this high award directly from the hands of the president of the Catalan Generalitat, Carles Puigdemont.

The award was given in recognition of the important work undertaken by Dr Anna Hospital in forensic medicine.  She has participated in humanitarian missions after large catastrophes in order to help to identify victims, which she did by combining technical rigour and humanity, in the field of forensic dentistry.

The Saint George Cross award (Creu de Sant Jordi) is one of the highest awards that a person can receive from the Catalan Generalitat.  The award was set up in 1981 with the aim of awarding people who stand out based on their services to Catalonia in the fields of civic duty and culture.
