Dr Baró delivers a talk on Pau Ignasi de Dalmases’ work as a historiographer
The event organised by the Royal Academy of Humanities revolved around the three-hundredth anniversary of the diplomat’s death
As part of the event held to commemorate the tercentennial anniversary of the death of Pau Ignasi de Dalmases, Dr Xavier Baró gave a conference on the diplomat’s work as a historiographer at the Royal Academy of Humanities in Barcelona.
According to the lecturer from the Faculty of Humanities, Dalmases was one of the founders of the Academy of the Distrustful, the genesis of the modern-day Royal Academy of Humanities of Barcelona.
In his talk, Baró drew attention to Dalmases’ merit as a historian, something which highlights the value of Catalan historiography between the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
