Dr Crespo conducts research at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center thanks to a mobility grant from the Ministry

Since November, Dr Iris Crespo has been on a postdoctoral research stay at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), having received a José Castillejo Mobility Grant from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

Crespo is currently performing research as part of the team led by Dr Allison Applebaum. This four-month grant, from November 2017 to February 2018, has given Dr Crespo the opportunity to take part in the International Observership Program in the Psychotherapy Laboratory at MSKCC, where she has learned about the latest psychotherapeutic approaches for cancer patients and their families. She has also worked as a visiting investigator in several clinical research projects at the Sloan Kettering Institute for Cancer Research.

The objective of the José Castillejo Mobility Grants is to fund stays that promote and encourage the mobility of young doctors in the early stages of their teaching and research career. These mobility periods must be spent abroad, at universities and research centres that are highly competitive in the candidate’s scientific field.
