Dr Isabel Villanueva takes part in the II Ciclo de encuentros para músicos curiosos run by the Higher Conservatory of Music of Navarre

The vice-dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Dr Isabel Villanueva, gave a lecture entitled “Communication, Music and Screens: the latest trends in applied music” as part of the  II Ciclo de encuentros para músicos curiosos (2nd series of encounters for inquisitive musicians) organised by the Higher Conservatory of Music of Navarre from 13 to 20 October.

Dr Villanueva delivered a master class analysing some of the possibilities that the contemporary Audiovisual Communication industry offers to musicians. Through an open discussion, music students learned about the various sectors available for them to specialise in within what is known as "applied music". During the session, real life case studies were examined across the range of the modern music industry's markets including the worlds of advertising, music video, fiction series, corporate communication, the cultural management sector and so on.

The II Ciclo de encuentros para músicos curiosos was based on four get-togethers aimed at the performers, composers, teachers and musicologists of the future. Three specialists from the fields of music as applied to the cinema and the mass media spoke about composition, performance, research and adapting to the changes of the digital age.
