Dr Josep Rubio participates in a round table on comprehensive treatment for patients with labio-palatine fissure at the COEC

Dr Josep Rubio, Head of the Area of Oral Preventive Medicine and Special Patients at the Faculty of Dentistry at UIC Barcelona, participated in a round table on comprehensive treatment for patients with labio-palatine fissure at the Official Society of Dentists and Stomatologists of Catalonia (COEC).  The following doctors also participated in the round table, Alejandro Rivera Barón (Orthodontics), Francisco José Parri Ferrandis (Paediatric Surgery), Sara Cardelús (Ear, Nose and Throat specialist), Luisa Tobella Campos (Orthodontics) and José Rubio (Maxillofacial Surgery). 

Protocols and news on orthodontics, ORL, paediatric plastic surgery and maxillofacial surgery were discussed at the round table. Dr Rubio gave a talk on 3D planning in orthognathic surgery and osteogenic distraction for the treatment of dentofacial deformations in patients with labio-palatine fissure.

Dr Rubio is Head of the Area of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the San Juan de Dios Maternity Hospital, and Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine subject taught as part of the Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry at UIC Barcelona. He is also a collaborating lecturer for the Master’s degree in Implantology at UIC Barcelona, and from this academic year onwards, Head of the Oral Preventive Medicine and Special Patients Area at the Faculty of Dentistry at UIC Barcelona.
