Dr Pujol analyses literary education and sustainability at a SEDLL conference

At the XVIII International Conference of the SEDLL society, held in Ciudad Real, lecturer Maria Pujol tackled the concept of nature in poetry aimed at children and young people.

Dr Maria Pujol participated in the XVIII Spanish Society for Language Teaching and Literature (SEDLL) International Conference by presenting the following paper:  "Educación literaria y sostenibilidad: el concepto de naturaleza en la poesía infantil y juvenil” [Literary education and sustainability: the concept of nature in poetry aimed at children and young people.]

The lecturer from the Faculty of Education analysed the idea of nature from an ecocritical perspective, the idea of nature presented in some of the children’s bestiary literature published in recent years in Catalan. In order to do so, she focused on poems -both texts and illustrations- about ants and butterflies and implemented the NaChiLit (Nature in Children's Literature and Culture from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences) methodology.  Pujol went on a research visit to the same university last year.
